Fashion Rut?

5 Quick Ways  To Tell If You're Stuck  In A Fashion Rut

And advice on how to get out!

The Problem:
Everyone already knows what you're going to wear for an event.

Maybe you have 1 outfit you wear for all your special occasions or maybe you have 1 outfit per type of occasion. Either way - your outfits have become predictable, boring, and probably dated.

The Fix:
Wear it for a week straight!

That's right - wear it for so long, that you're finally able to understand how dull it is to constantly see yourself in that same outfit. We understand that no matter how boring it seems to everyone else, it's hard to feel bored with something you only wear for special occasions - so maybe go for 2 weeks.  And a little word of advise: don't forget to wash your clothes if you attempt this challenge!

The Problem:
Your outfits are dominated by 1 to 3 colors.

You've opened your closet and all you see are black shirts and blue jeans - you remember that red shirt you bought, but that's not classic predictable you! Luckily, you're here to pull yourself out of that monochrome nightmare.

The Fix:
Pick 1 to 2 of the dominant colors and remove it from your wardrobe.

Removing dominant colors from your wardrobe can help break you of your color dependency and lack of versatility. Not only that, it can help increase your confidence and creativity as you're forced to try out new colors and styles.

The Problem:
Forget wearing only one color - you literally only have 1 style.

We get that you've grown comfortable with your style. You're a wonderfully unsurprising individual when it comes to what you're wearing at any given time. The real question is - who ever said your tattered basketball shorts and stained jersey was a style worth holding onto?

The Fix:
Change your mindset!

Easier said than done, we know - but we believe in you! A tremendous amount of people get stuck in the mindset that, "if the style fits, why change it?" This fix isn't just about refreshing your wardrobe, it's about refreshing the way you think about yourself and the way you want to impact the people around you. Super Dad doesn't moonlight as Super Scrub - does he?

The Problem:
Unseen style blind spots.

Unsure of what a 'style blind spot' is? Here is a quick list: using the same cologne since you were 15, having the same haircut you used to get as a kid, you've been wearing the same necklace you got while on vacation that one time. Honestly, the list goes on - but it's anything outside of your standard shoes, pants, shirt, and underwear combo.

The Fix:
Make small adaptations.

You don't have to go overboard and start tackling all your style blind spots at once, just pick one and go from there. You'd be surprised how many people will take notice of a new cologne or pair of glasses with different rims. Even your haircut could be an easy change with a little product and a brush.

The Problem:
You constantly wear the same clothes, even though you own a good variety.

This one is the hardest to notice. You constantly see the variety available to you, but you've become blind to the fact that you only wear the same 6 or 7 outfits. If you're not blind to the fact, you're making excuses about why not to wear it and that's just no good for anyone.

The Fix:
Force yourself outside of the box.

This can happen in a few ways:
1) Don't wash your clothes until your closet is fully empty.
2) Schedule one hour a week to try on a variety of outfits and then schedule to wear them throughout the week. No repeats for as long as you can!
3) Have a friend help plan out your outfit - the extra confidence can go a long way!
